I’m not getting notifications
Check nørma’s notification permission on your phone, Focus or Do Not Disturb, and your Preferences.
How it works
nørma can only reach you if your phone lets it. Your phone’s settings come first, then your choices in the app. Focus or Do Not Disturb can also hold notifications back until they end.
nørma sends a few kinds: one when your monthly check-in opens, occasional nudges, and an evening gratitude reminder at 20:30 unless you change it.
Step by step
- Open your phone’s Settings, find nørma and make sure notifications are allowed.
- Check whether Focus or Do Not Disturb is on.
- In nørma, open You, then “Preferences”.
- Turn on “Remind me when the window opens” for your monthly check-in.
- Under “How often can nørma send you nudges?”, choose Daily or Weekly. If your phone hasn’t asked about notifications yet, this lets it ask.
- Make sure “Gratitude reminder” is on and “Pause everything” is off.
Good to know
If Preferences says your phone isn’t letting nørma send notifications, the fix is in your phone’s Settings, not in the app.
The gratitude reminder never comes on a day you’ve already written or skipped. If you don’t open nørma for two weeks, it stops until you come back.
Check-in emails only come when your organisation has set a check-in window.
Choosing Off for nudges doesn’t stop your check-in reminder. Only its own switch or “Pause everything” does.
