Value at Stake
How the estimate is worked out, which inputs you set, and what it does and doesn’t claim.
How it works
Value at Stake, under Measure, estimates what staff turnover costs your organisation in a year. Only Organisation Admins see it. nørma works it out from three figures your organisation agrees and the number of active people on your roster, and shows the working.
The sum is average salary × attrition rate × effect factor × active employees. Average salary times the effect factor is the value per employee: the full cost of losing someone, from hiring and retraining to the value lost while the role is empty.
Step by step
- Open Value at Stake.
- Under “Value at stake inputs”, enter “Average salary”, “Attrition rate (% a year)” and “Effect factor”.
- Tap “Save”.
- Check the working line against figures you recognise.
Good to know
It’s an estimate from your own inputs. It makes no claim that nørma causes or saves anything.
nørma never guesses an input. Until all three are set, there’s no estimate to show.
Active employees are people whose status on People is Active. Invited people, and people whose access was removed, aren’t counted.
Figures are in Australian dollars.
Agree the inputs with your finance team before showing the figure to a board.
